CDN for Joomla
Download Joomla ZIP 0.1.0 · SHA-256
Tested on Joomla 5.4.9 and 6.1.4, PHP 8.3. Uses the native installer, namespace/service provider and system onAfterRender event. Joomla 3/4 are not supported by this package.
Installation
- Connect your CDN source, obtain the CDN URL and test a real image.
- Open System → Install Extensions in the administrator and upload the ZIP.
- Open System → Plugins → System - Zorka CDN and enable the plugin. Its separate rewriting setting starts disabled.
- Enter the Canonical site URL, including an installation subfolder, such as
https://example.com/joomla/. Enter the issued CDN URL, including/s/site_id. - Configure public folders (default
/images/) and private exclusions (default/images/private/), one/path/per line. For the example above use/joomla/images/and/joomla/images/private/. - Enable Rewrite image URLs, save and clear Joomla and hosting page caches.
Behaviour
The plugin rewrites final site HTML: article/template images, srcset, lazy-loading and inline CSS. Originals, stored articles and media remain unchanged. Administrator, CLI/API, signed-in users, com_users, POST and non-HTML responses are skipped. Invalid settings leave origin URLs intact.
The plugin trusts the explicitly configured canonical URL rather than the Host header. An external <base href> skips rewriting. Order the system plugin to receive final markup; third-party caches and galleries require their own checks.
Joomla's native form handles permissions and CSRF protection. Reinstalling the ZIP upgrades the plugin while preserving parameters. Clear all HTML caches after disabling or uninstalling. Uninstallation removes plugin settings, not images or articles.
